Introduction:In 2011, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), an integrated power plant equipment manufacturer in India, was ranked as the ninth most innovative company in the world by US business magazine, Forbes. As of 2011, BHEL was the 12th largest power equipment manufacturer in the world and one of India’s nine largest Public Sector Undertakings, known as the Navratnas or ‘the nine jewels’ of the country.

BHEL manufactured over 180 products that catered to the core sectors of the Indian economy such as power, transmission, industry, transportation, oil & gas, non-conventional energy sources, telecommunication, & defense.
